Symeon the New Theologian: The Discourses is unavailable, but you can change that!

St. Symeon (942–1022), abbot, spiritual director, theologian and church reformer, was the great spiritual master of Eastern Christianity. His Discourses, the central work of his life, were preached to his monks during their Matins ritual.

… why are you suspicious of the instructions that we have so often given you in different words? What judgment have you passed within yourselves against him who has so frankly spoken such things? Have you suspected us of saying something that is beyond the Scriptures? Have you secretly found fault with us and accused us of speaking with presumption? Have you condemned us for being boastful? If this is your attitude toward what I have spoken, may Christ pardon you! As for me, I entreat your charity
